Lake Llanquihue Basin
After breakfast, we recommend a scenic drive of approximately two hours around the Lake Llanquihue basin. It is ideal for relaxed sightseeing, photography at viewpoints, water sports, panoramic views of Osorno Volcano and southern Chile’s characteristic sunsets.
Along the route you will find small towns such as Ensenada, Cascadas and Puerto Octay. Roads are in good condition and each stop offers cafés, restaurants and places to relax.
Recommendation: Bring an extra layer and a rain jacket.
Osorno Volcano
About one hour from the hotel you will find one of southern Chile’s most iconic natural landmarks: Osorno Volcano. It is ideal for trekking, mountain activities, photography, and skiing during winter.
Located within Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, the paved access road reaches up to 1,700 meters above sea level. At this point there is a mountain lodge where you can enjoy coffee and wide views over Lake Llanquihue.
Recommendation: Leave before 11:00 am and return no later than 4:00 pm, as vehicle access is closed by CONAF at that time. Bring warm clothing, as temperatures can drop in the afternoon.
Petrohué Waterfalls
Along the same route to Osorno Volcano, and about one hour from the hotel, you will find the Petrohué River Waterfalls, located within Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. They are known for turquoise waters and volcanic rock formations.
The area offers well-marked trails suitable for all visitors, with access to multiple viewpoints.
